When I think about what sets a real estate professional apart, words like experience, dedication, and integrity come to mind. For me, these qualities are more than just descriptors—they are the foundation of my career and the cornerstone of my mission to redefine the client experience in real estate.
A Journey Rooted in Service and Community
My journey to becoming a REALTOR® began on the North Side of Chicago, where I grew up before moving to Alabama in 1983. Since then, I have proudly called Shelby County my home.
I grew up watching my entrepreneurial Dad use the gifts and skills he was given to chart a path for his own life. He was a custom cabinet and furniture maker, and his "jobs" as he called them, can be found all across central Alabama. Customers would come from afar to seek the man who could bring their ideas and dreams to life. His legacy of true craftmanship lives on and can be seen at the Shelby County Sherrif's office, the Shelby County BOE, and the Columbiana Library, just to name a few.
As I watched my Dad build his legacy, something burned deep in me to do the same. I wanted to use the gifts and talents I was given to make a difference in someone's life. My Dad often told me growing up that I should have been an attorney. He would tell me that I was well-organized and fought with tenacity. (Well, my Dad's words went something more like "You can argue the pants off of someone" and "Great job on keeping your room clean," lol.) So, when I felt the prompting of God to make a career change, I sought my Dad for advice. He was excited for me and the opportunity and encouraged me to pursue my dreams. I couldn't see the potential, but he did, so much that he became one of my first clients!
In 2006, I began my real estate career, joining RealtySouth where I learned how to be a good agent. In 2009, I moved on to RE/MAX Advantage, where I learned how to manage my own business. With a sharp focus on growth and a drive to provide unparalleled service, I earned my Broker license in 2016 and achieved my dream of founding Today's Home Real Estate in 2018.
My vision for Today's Home Real Estate was clear: to provide a boutique-style real estate experience characterized by innovative marketing, open communication, and complete transparency. My goal is to deliver a first-class service that makes every client feel valued, understood, and empowered to make decisions that work for them. Whether working with buyers, sellers, or investors, I bring life-giving enthusiasm, unwavering integrity, and an unparalleled commitment to my clients.
Recognition and Leadership
Throughout my career, I've been honored with numerous accolades and have taken on leadership roles that showcase my passion for excellence. In 2013, I was named Sales Associate of the Year by my brokerage and nominated for Sales Associate of the Year by my local REALTOR® Association. For more than seven years, I have served within the local MLS association, contributing my expertise and vision to the real estate community. In 2018, my leadership extended to the Birmingham Association of REALTORS® Leadership Academy, where I played a pivotal role in creating the community mural "One City" at the corner of 16th Street and 3rd Avenue North.
